Subject: Preparing Canvases
Materials:
- piece of canvas
- scrap of canvas for threads
- large sewing needle, yarn needle, sewing pins
- wooden frame
- cotton string
- rabbit skin glue 10%
- I sewed my canvas in the lab during class, and finished stretching it at home.
2. In the lab, using already-prepared and heated rabbit skin glue, I applied a layer on the front of the canvas using wide, flat brush.
3. I placed the sized canvas standing in the fume hood to speed up the drying process between application of layers.
